Daniel is a Senior Electrical Engineer at Unity, joining the team in 2025. He brings 27 years of experience across transmission, distribution, generation, and protection systems, supported by a career spanning major utilities, OEMs, and specialist engineering organisations.
Daniel’s background includes delivering protection and secondary systems design at Unity, leading commissioning standards and assurance for major transmission projects at Powerlink Queensland, undertaking protection design, relay settings, and power system studies at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL), and contributing to product testing and design verification at Siemens. He began his career as an electrician and telecommunications technician before progressing into senior engineering roles.
His expertise covers commissioning, testing, and protection of high‑voltage assets up to 275 kV, including transformers, GIS, transmission lines, and busbar systems. Daniel’s practical experience and technical leadership support the delivery of safe, reliable, and compliant protection and secondary systems solutions.
Daniel is a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) and holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern Queensland. He is recognised for his commissioning capability, protection engineering expertise, and strong technical leadership.
